Junior / Entry-Level Java Developer

Job Summary:

We are looking for a motivated Junior Java Developer to join our engineering team. In this role, you will help build, maintain, and enhance Java-based applications under the guidance of more senior developers. This is a great opportunity to learn, grow, and contribute in a collaborative environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Write clean, efficient, maintainable, and well-documented Java code.

  • Assist in the design, development, testing, and deployment of features and applications.

  • Fix bugs, troubleshoot issues, and participate in debugging.

  • Assist with writing unit tests and possibly integration tests.

  • Use version control (e.g. Git) for source code management.

  • Participate in code reviews and learn coding best practices.

  • Work with databases: design queries, interact with relational databases (SQL), use ORM (e.g. Hibernate or JPA).

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (QA, product, DevOps) to deliver software.

  • Be open to learning new technologies, frameworks, and practices.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.

  • 0-2 years of experience in Java development (could include internships, university projects, or freelance work).

  • Solid understanding of core Java concepts (OOP, collections, exception handling, threading basics).

  • Familiarity with one or more of the following frameworks: Spring, Hibernate, or other Java EE / Jakarta EE technologies.

  • Basic knowledge of SQL and relational database fundamentals.

  • Understanding of RESTful services / APIs.

  • Good problem-solving ability.

  • Effective communication and collaboration skills.

Nice-to-Have / Preferred Skills:

  • Understanding of web technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript).

  • Basic understanding of application performance, security, and best practices.
